Margarete Petersen

Artist, tarot traveler, and experienced seminar leader. Born on June 13, 1946, in Glücksburg, Schleswig-Holstein. From 1969 to 1970, she studied painting at the Muthesius School in Kiel with Prof. Brockmann, and from 1970 to 1971 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Prof. Fruhtrunk. From 1971 to 1974, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin with Prof. Bachmann. After graduating, she worked with various media, including photo and slide series and photo trick films. Since 1979, she has returned to brush and paint and pursued further studies in airbrush. She has a preference for symbolism and surrealism. Willingly or unwillingly, tarot became her world and her calling. She has walked the much-cited "way of the artist." After living in Ticino and Upper Bavaria (where Michael Ende's old village school was her domicile), she has been living in Berlin again for years. Currents of art and contemporary spirituality are reflected in her images, as well as the traditional structure of the 78 symbol cards. In 2001, the Margarete Petersen Deck was completed. Seminars with Margarete Petersen involve meditative body and card work, offering unique support for one's own path.
